08.16.12 - Blacks

Paddled out at 5:50, and it was pretty dark still, solo. Tide was going from a -0.36' low at 3:17am to a 4.43' high at 9:26am. Conditions were very glassy, with no winds. Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 2.9' from 293° at 4s, combined with some SSW activity. Surf was small in inconsistent. There were a few fun a-frame peaks that would come through. There were some barrels to be had if you could find them. Waves were waist high. Water was really nice in my spring suit. Board ridden: 5'10" KG Twinzer. Best wave: No real standout, but I did catch a couple of lefts that held up enough to get a couple decent turns in...
