10.28.12 - Blacks

Paddled out at around 1:30pm, with Bryan Coon. Tide was dropping to a 0.0'low at 3:21pm. Conditions were clean, with no winds. Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 2.6' from 282° at 7.5s. Surf was smaller than yesterday, and mostly closed out. There were some occassional corners to pick off. Waves were 2-3+. Water was really nice in my spring suit due to the santa ana conditions. Board ridden: 5'10" KG Twinzer Fish.

10.27.12 - Blacks

Paddled out at 6:30am, solo. Tide was Pushing fast to a 6.2' high at 8:14am. Conditions were glassy, with off shore winds. Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 3.5' at 9s combo NNW and SSW. Surf was pretty clean. The winds were strong offshore at first so it was hard to paddle into the rights. There was a NSSA contest starting at 7:00 at middles, so I drifted down a little south to be out of the contest area. In general the waves were fun, but soft due to the high tide. Waves were chest high with occassional plus. Water was really nice in my short sleeve full suit. Board ridden: 5'10" KG Twinzer fish.

10.18.12 - Blacks

Paddled out at 6:45am, solo. Tide was pushing from a 1.8' low at 4:09am. Conditions were bug and junky, with south winds. Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 3.2' at 5s from 220°. The south winds were noticable when I was changing into my suit, I was hoping that there was enough east wind to keep it clean, but alas... This was my first session back since injuring my elbow, so I am still glad I paddled out. I surfed for about 45 minutes, and only caught two waves due to the curent and chop it was hard to be in the "right" spot. Waves were 4-6'+. Water was warm in my short sleeve full suit. Board ridden: 5'10" KG Twinzer fish.

9.16.12 - Blacks

Sorry for the super late posting of this session (and lack of new reports as well - but I am out of the water right now with an elbow injury).

Paddled out at 6:30 am, solo. Tide was pushing to a 5.7' high at 9:50am. Conditions were crossed up, with slight onshore winds. Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 3.2' from 220° at 6s. Conditions looked pretty junky, but since I was going to be out of town for a week I decied to paddle out nonetheless. I went out close to the ho chi min trail, and there were some okay corners to pick off. I had the peak to my self so that helped as well. there was a strong northbound current. Waves were waist high. Water was warm in my short sleeve full suit. Board ridden: 5'10" KG Twinzer.
