Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 2.9' from 281° at 4-6s. In general it was pretty junky out there. Board ridden: Xanadu Pig2. Best wave: almost didn't have one to report, but close to 7:00 I caught a really nice left between south peak and middles. 08.04.12 - Trestles (Uppers)

Paddled out at 2:30pm, with Chris M.. Tide was tide level. Conditions were somewhat glassy, with slight winds. Dana Point Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 1.9' from 199° at 14-16s. Conditions were relatively clean considering it was early/mid afternoon. Uppers crowd wasn't terrible (by the numbers) but since this swell has been pretty inconsistent (typically 1-2 waves per set) the crowd was pretty "hungry". I only caught a few waves that I wasn't dropped in on. Waves were waist to shoulder high. Water was very comfortable in trunks and l/s surf shirt. Board ridden: 5'10" KG Twinzer Fish.

08.02.12 - Blacks

Paddled out at 5:30, solo, and was the first one out. Joel S. joined me around 6:30am. Tide was very low, but pushing to a 4.7' high at 10:30. Conditions were clean, with no winds. Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 2.2' from 275° at 6s. Surf was really small, with only occasional pulses coming through. Board ridden: 5'10" KG Twinzer Fish.

The walk down the road was really beautiful this morning. The, mostly, full moon was low in the western horizon, and there were a ton of stars, and a few planets, visible in the sky.
