7.1.13 - 19th Street, Del Mar

Paddled out at 5:15 pm, solo. Tide was pushing to a 5.5' high at 5:30 pm. Conditions were glassy, with no winds. Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 3.7' from 218° at 14s. Fun, spontaneous, post work session. Most of the sets were pretty walled off, but there were some fun corners to catch. Waves were 3-4'. Water was toasty in my trunks and long sleeve surf jacket. Board ridden: 5'11" Xanadu Pig 2 (as twin).

5.20.13 - 18th St. Del Mar

Paddled out at 8:25 am, solo. Tide was dropping from a 4.1' high at 7:11 am. Conditions were glassy, with no winds. Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 5.0' from 201° at 17s. Surf was pretty clean in Del Mar today. It was a little soft due to the tide. I did catch a lot of wave for the hour window I had. I broke my leash on a bigger left (older leash with some fin nicks on it) so I had to swim all the way to the beach a couple of times. Waves were 4-5' with occasional pluses. Water was really comfortable in my short sleeve full. Board ridden: 5'11" Xanadu Pig 2.

Paddled out at 6:40, with Chris M. Tide was coming off of a 0.1' low at 5:31 am. Conditions were glassy, with no winds. Torrey Pines Outer Buoy was reporting Significant Wave Height of 2.2' from 240° at 14s. Surf was meager today. Waves were barely knee high. Water was cold. Board ridden: 5'11" Xanadu Pig 2, no leash.
